The sulphur sweet spot

Continue

Super S strikes the balance between sulphate and elemental sources. With season-long stability and high nutrient-density for healthier crops at lower rates, it’s sulphur well spent.

The Super S Difference

How Super S has solved sulphur.

  • High Nutrient-Density

More sulphur per kilo for efficient application and less money spent on mileage.

  • Co-granulated with Urea

Enhanced dispersion for microbial activation and early season crop growth.

  • Micronised Particle Distribution

Ultra-fine particles for accelerated oxidation and season-long supply.

“For all plants and conditions tested, Super S provided sufficient sulphur sooner than required.”

The Super S Uptake Curve

Supercharge your harvest with sulphur that’s the best of both worlds.

On the spectrum of sulphur availability, we have easily-leached, readily-available sulphate sources at one end and water-tight, slowly-available sulphur bentonite sources at the other. Super S sits in the Goldilocks zone, minimising loss and maximising availability throughout the crop cycle.

Grow More with Less

Super S packs more value into every micron, with typical application rates of 30 kilos per hectare and water-tight resistance to runoff.

How it works

  • 01

    Activation

The urea matrix carrying Super S dissolves quickly, acting as an immediate energy source for microbes to convert the released sulphur into a plant-available form.

  • 02

    Acceleration

Micronised sulphur particles offer a large surface area for microbial interaction, accelerating the oxidation process to match the nutritional demands of the crop.

  • 03

    Retention

Super S particles remain soil-stable until they become available to the plant, so the potential for leaching losses is dramatically reduced.

  • 04

    Harvest

Sustained sulphur availability supports uninhibited protein synthesis in plants and long-term soil improvements, resulting in consistently productive harvests.

Frequently Asked Questions

Super S is the first commercially available product with a homogenous combination of urea and elemental S. This makes the product dissolve faster than any other elemental S source. The particle size is much smaller than other elemental S sources. This makes the product oxidise faster and provide faster sulphate availability for crop growth and production.

Super S is a very dense S source, which can minimise storage space and transportation cost. The nutrient density can also decrease the number of times equipment needs to be refilled translating to greater in-field efficiency. Super S is available within the season of application. Current research is focused on determining the amount of product equivalent to other elemental S sources with the expectation that application rates can be reduced as compared to other elemental S products.

Smaller particle size increases surface area, which increases the access of microbes to the elemental sulphur. Therefore, the microbial oxidation is faster due to microbial access to the elemental S. The particle size is the primary reason traditional sulphur bentonite takes multiple seasons to fully oxidise while Super S only takes one season.

Super S utilises urea as a matrix for the elemental S. Since urea is highly soluble, as soon as moisture is introduced, the urea dissolves away, dispersing the S particles. In comparison, the bentonite clay in sulphur bentonite takes a significant amount of time to absorb moisture. As the bentonite clay increases moisture, it swells until it eventually ruptures, which releases the S particles.

Sulphur has been promoted as the 4th major nutrient. Since air quality regulations have reduced the amount of S in emissions, the soils have become more deficient. To achieve yield potential of crops, S is becoming critical to add to crop fertilisation practices. S is directly related to yield. Data shows that a balanced nutrient plan is more effective than trying to compensate for one nutrient deficiency by overapplication of another nutrient.

Super S is a very good blend partner with standard primary fertilisers. The uniform size and density keep the Super S in a uniform blend and even spreading.

Yes. Super S will function much like any typical elemental S fertiliser for this purpose except that the improved oxidation rate will cause the pH adjustment and correction to occur much quicker than traditional S bentonite.

Yes. Super S is a low salt fertiliser source that can be applied with the seed in a single application at planting without causing seedling injury while providing full season S availability.
